On 9 February 2023, Clarivate, a global leader in providing trusted insights and analytics, added the Preprint Citation Index to the Web of Science platform, streamlining the research process by allowing researchers to locate and link to preprints alongside other trusted content in the database.
The Preprint Citation Index will act as a bridge to connect cutting-edge preprints with peer-reviewed journal articles published within the Web of Science Core Collection.
Healio.com recently interviewed MSK Senior Research Scientist Dr. Warren Fingrut about improving awareness of stem cell donor eligibility for gay, bisexual, and other men who have sex with men (gbMSM).
Dr. Fingrut’s study, presented at a recent joint meeting of the American Society for Transplantation and Cellular Therapy (ASTCT) and Center for International Blood and Marrow Transplant Research (CIBMTR), asked for feedback from 12 focus groups of 37 total gbMSM to determine how to reduce barriers to donation and improve awareness of eligibility. Most participants were unaware of their eligibility, and many were concerned that physician acceptance of gbMSM donors was not universal.

The MSK Library supports researchers working on systematic review (SR) projects with a variety of resources and services and training opportunities. An additional SR tool option available to MSK users, that is included as part of the library’s subscription to the Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI) EBP Database (OVID), is an “EBP Tool” called JBI SUMARI.

This comprehensive software suite has been developed to assist users on developing, conducting and reporting on systematic reviews of evidence related to the feasibility, appropriateness, meaningfulness and effectiveness of health care interventions or professional activities.
Similar to Covidence (another systematic review project management software tool currently available to MSK researchers), JBI SUMARI includes functionality for: Project Management, Protocol Builder, Import of Studies, Study Screening, Assessment of Risk of Bias, Data Extraction, Data Synthesis, and Report Writing. The JBI SUMARI Knowledge Base is also a great place to look for guidance on using this tool. Two areas worth noting where JBI SUMARI differentiates itself from Covidence are with its built-in Protocol Builder capabilities and its Synthesis functionality – features that are currently not available in Covidence.
