New Database: CINAHL Plus with Full Text

The library has upgraded the CINAHL platform to CINAHL Plus with Full Text. CINAHL Plus with Full Text includes rigorous curation and indexing of open access (OA) journals, which has resulted in a growing collection of 1,443 active global OA journals. Once validated and certified for inclusion, these OA journals are treated with high-quality subject indexing and sophisticated, precise/accurate full-text linking.  

CINAHL Plus with Full Text provides more than 370 nursing and allied health active full-text, non-open access journals indexed in the CINAHL® Database. In addition, CINAHL Plus with Full Text also includes an expanded version of the CINAHL® index including more records, additional journals, records dating back to 1937 and expanded content.

New Databases: AccessMedicine and AccessSurgery

The library now subscribes to two comprehensive resources, AccessMedicine and AccessSurgery

AccessMedicine provides more than 100 medical reference textbooks, ranging from surgery and pharmacology to basic and clinical sciences. It includes frequently updated content with thousands of images and illustrations, interactive self-assessments, case files, diagnostic tools, and more. Textbooks include Harrison’s Principles of Internal Medicine (21st edition), Adams and Victor’s Principles of Neurology (12th edition), and Goodman & Gilman’s The Pharmacological Basis of Therapeutics (14th edition).

AccessSurgery is a comprehensive online surgery resource aimed to enhance medical knowledge and deliver quick answers to surgical inquiries. AccessSurgery provides access to leading surgical textbooks (including Schwartz’s Principles of Surgery and Zollinger’s Atlas of Surgical Operations), instructional surgical videos and animations that show step-by-step how to perform basic and advanced surgical procedures, an Interactive Board Review designed to help residents and clerks prepare for exams, an integrated drug database to look up dosing, indications, and adverse reactions, and a Clerkship Corner that brings together all clerkship specific resources, including text references, case files, and videos on essential concepts and procedures clerks may observe or assist in during their rotation.

New Database: ClinicalKey

The MSK Library has added a new database resource, Elsevier’s ClinicalKey

ClinicalKey provides streamlined access to evidence-based information for clinicians, nurses, and healthcare professionals including quick answers at the point of care. It includes more than 1,000 medical books published by Elsevier including key texts used in medical education such as Gray’s Anatomy, Rang & Dale’s Pharmacology, Gunderson & Tepper’s Clinical Radiation Oncology, and Goldman’s Cecil Medicine. ClinicalKey also includes more than 650 journals (~100 being oncology-related), 3,000 drug monographs, 4,500 practice guidelines, and patient education information. Search and filter through these resources by source type, study type, specialty disciplines, and date.
