The MSK Library is hosting a trial which will provide access to all Current Protocols (CP). The trial will end Friday, July 31, 2015. From now until the end date, the research community will have an opportunity to explore the new CP layout as well as review several Protocols that we presently do not have subscriptions to. This resource offers instant, easy access to protocol abstracts, materials lists, and more, while linking to full text content hosted on Wiley Online Library that the MSK Library subscribes to. Try Scopus to Calculate your H-Index Score
The h-index is an attempt at measuring the productivity and impact of a scientist or scholar based on his/her total body of work and citation counts in other publications. The h-index can be used for various scholarly tenure and promotional purposes. The following are detailed steps for calculating a researcher’s h-index using the Scopus database.
- Click Scopus under TOP DATABASES on the Library homepage
- Click the Author Search tab in Scopus
- Enter the researcher’s last name, first initial, and affiliation (using simply sloan kettering for our organization)
- Click the green magnifying glass button to search
- Locate the researcher from the list of results and click on the name to view their profile
- Out of the links at the top of the profile, choose View h-graph
Aside from the actual h-index number displayed on the screen, you’ll notice that a nice visual is generated providing all published works and their number of citations. You can also update this graph to include only specific years of publications if you like.
