Announcement: PubMed Operating on Limited Staff!

PubMed has been designated to be maintained with minimal staff during the lapse in government funding. Updates regarding government operating status and resumption of normal operations can be found at http://www.usa.gov.

To ensure that you are getting the most updated results when searching for literature, we recommend that you include the Embase and Web of Science databases to your resource repertoire. To search MEDLINE comprehensively, please use the Web of Knowledge and/or Ovid interfaces. Please do not hesitate to contact the Reference staff for questions or help with searching these databases.

Resource Highlights: Open Access Theses and Dissertations

Finding the full text of theses and dissertations on the web can be daunting. Open Access Theses and Dissertations (OATD) indexes graduate-level (and beyond) research from around the world. The database only lists papers that are open access and freely available for download. Compared to other theses and dissertations sources out there, OATD’s strength lies in the fact that it contains more masters theses than some other databases.

OATD is maintained by a steering committee made up of a group of information professionals most of whom come from Wake Forest University which is the institution that digitally manages the electronic collection. The About (FAQ) section contains more detailed information on how OATD finds and indexes their records.
