What is BrowZine?
BrowZine, created by Third Iron, is a new tablet application that allows you to browse, read and monitor many of the MSK Library’s scholarly journals. All in a format optimized for your iPad or Android tablet! Built to accompany your searching needs, items found in BrowZine can easily be synced up with Zotero, Mendeley, RefWorks, or several other services to help keep all of your information together in one place.
BrowZine is only available as an app for mobile devices and isn’t available for laptops or desktop computers. Versions for iPhones and Android smartphones are expected to be released sometime in the fall.
What can I do with BrowZine?
* Browse and read journals by subject, easily review tables of contents, and download full articles.
* Create a personal bookshelf of your favorite journals (iOS only, Android coming).
* Be notified when new articles are published.
* Save articles for off-line reading or export to services such as Mendeley, RefWorks, Zotero, Papers and more.
Can I find all of our Library’s journals on BrowZine?
Not quite. Since BrowZine is a new service, they have started with a small set of publishers; but are adding more on a regular basis. To get notified about new additions to the journal list, visit the BrowZine website or sign up for their newsletter.
Please note that BrowZine currently ends access at 2005 since they have found that users using the app are generally looking for the most recent reading content. At this time, if you would like to browse journal issues earlier than 2005, please use MSK search.
How do I get started with BrowZine?
You can get started with BrowZine in three easy steps:
1. From your iPad or Android tablet, go to your app store (Apple App Store, Google Play or Amazon), search for “BrowZine” and download it at no charge to you.
2. Open BrowZine and select the MSK Library from the list.
3. Enter your credentials (these will be the same that you use to access library resources from off-campus).
