Two new databases related to genetics and genomics have been added to the MSK Library’s database resources.
The National Library of Medicine’s Genetics Home Reference provides consumer-friendly information about the effects of genetic variations on human health. It includes information on;
- genetics of more than 1,000 health conditions, diseases and syndromes
- more than 1,200 genes, health effects of genetic differences and gene families
- a glossary with medical and genetics definitions
My Cancer Genome, from the Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center, is a personalized cancer medicine knowledge resource for physicians, patients, caregivers and researchers. It features up-to-date information on what mutations make cancers grow and related therapeutic implications, including available clinical trials. For more on this resource, please see Antonio’s recent post.
Both resources can be accessed through the Library’s Database A-Z listing.
