Celebrate Oncology Nursing Month!
May has arrived and that means it’s Oncology Nursing Month! The MSK Library staff would like to recognize and congratulate our oncology nurses for the exceptional skill they exhibit everyday while providing the best quality care for patients.
Our dedicated Library Nursing Liaison along with our team of information professionals provide a plethora of resources and services to aide nurses with their research, education plans and patient care endeavors. The collaboration between Nursing and the Library has been very well received and acknowledged by the members of the nursing department. Below are just two quotes from our nurses that illustrate the benefits of this partnership:
- “The Librarian has been part of our Evidence-based projects and has provided enormous support in collection and analysis of the literature.” – Nurse Administrator
- “I use our library extensively for my school work. I am studying for my Masters of Science” – Staff Nurse in Peri-Operative
If you are a nurse and would like to share your testimonial or tell us a story where the Library and staff have supported your work or research activities, please contact Marisol Hernandez. We definitely want to hear from you!
Attention MSK Staff: Attend an Upcoming NIH BioSketch Seminar
The National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the Agency for Health Research and Quality (AHRQ) require the new biosketch format (NOT-OD-15-032) for all competing and non-competing applications submitted for due dates on or after May 25, 2015. Biosketch format pages, instructions, samples and FAQs are available on the SF 424 (R&R) Forms and Applications page.
The MSK Grants and Contracts Office (G&C) Funding Development Team will be hosting a seminar session with Q&A about the new NIH biosketch, SciENcv, and MyNCBI on Thursday, April 23, 2015 in RRL-116 from 4 – 5 PM. You can also reach out to G&C to review the biosketch and SciENcv tool on a department-specific basis. Please contact G&C (FDT@mskcc.org) to make arrangements.
In addition, the MSK Library has developed “Instructions” in support of the new Biosketch and SciENcv application. Learn more from our blog announcement.
