  4. Use the Select, Highlight, and Note buttons at the top to add annotations to your document.

Don’t forget that the Library offers a workshop on Mendeley.

Here are instructions for the RefWorks task:

  1. First, create an account with RefWorks and login.
  2. Go to the PubMed tab on the MSK Library website and do a search.
  3. Check off the articles you wish to send to RefWorks.
  4. Click on Send To in the upper right and choose File.
  5. Choose the MEDLINE format and click Create File. Save the text file.
  6. Go to RefWorks and from the References menu select Import.
  7. Choose NLM PubMed as the import filter and click Browse to choose the text file.
  8. Click New Folder and name the folder you want to import into, then click Import.
  9. The references should now be in your folder.
  10. To share the references, click on the Organize and Share Folder Tab and click on the folder icon with an arrow to the right of your folder. Click Share and email the person you want to share the references with.

The Library offers a workshop on RefWorks as well.

How To Do an Affiliation Search in Scopus

Scopus is an interdisciplinary database made available to MSK employees and students. If you’re interested in reading articles about a particular topic published by someone from MSK, here are instructions for how to do your search in Scopus:

  1. Go to the MSK Library website and click on Scopus under Top Databases.
  2. Enter brachytherapy (or your preferred search topic) into the text box next to Article Title, Abstract, Keywords.
  3. Click on Add search field and enter sloan kettering into the second text box that appears.
  4. Next to the second text box, select Affiliation from the drop down menu.
  5. Click on the button with the magnifying glass to the right of the text boxes to search.
  6. Review the search results.

You may also notice there are many opportunities to refine your search on the left. You can see what authors are publishing the most on this topic, or you can limit the search results to review articles only if you wish. If you have further questions about searching Scopus, contact a reference librarian by emailing us or calling us at 212-639-7439.
