NLMPlus is Now Available

NLMplus provides a new level of universal access to the National Library of Medicine’s rich and high quality content in all areas of biomedicine and health, via a simple and intuitive user interface.

It is a semantic search and knowledge discovery application that simultaneously searches 60 NLM databases as well as Medlineplus Health Topics; PubMed Reviews; PubMed Abstracts; Drugs and Supplements (NLM’s Drug Information Portal and Medlineplus Drugs & Supplements databases); News (Medlineplus News); Videos and Tutorials (Medlineplus Videos and Tutorials); and Images (images from NLM’s History of Medicine and PubChem databases).

When you search any terms or concepts in the search box, a lists of Related Concepts, Health Concerns, Tests and Treatments, Drugs and Substances, and Alternative Medicine will be generated on the result page.

Web of Knowledge New Enhancement

Web of Knowledge has launched a new enhancement on its platform to make navigating searches and citation paths easier.

New features include:

  • A simplified display of the Lookup Table makes it easier to view and identify relevant results.
  • Additional information displayed in the Citation Report allows you to gain more context from your results.
  • Use the Advanced Search to search by accession number or ISSN or export them from the Marked List.
  • Search a broad set of data across a subject area using the Advanced Search. The Subject Area field can be found in all of the databases across the new Web of Knowledge.
  • Quickly and simply disambiguate authors with common names with the newly enhanced Author Finder.

GLAD4U is Now Available

GLAD4U is an alternative search interface for locating specific gene information found within the NCBI resources. Developed by the department of Biomedical Informatics at Vanderbilt University, GLAD4U allows you to query the scientific literature to retrieve and prioritize a list of Entrez-Gene IDs. If any of the genes are found, their ID will be linked to the Entrez-Gene page, along with their score and position in the current GLAD4U list. You can also Click the link “see all supporting publications in PubMed” to open a new window showing all the supporting publications for each gene within PubMed. Results can be downloaded in an excel file, a text file or as a TAR archive (.tar.gz). Detailed documentation of GLAD4U can be found here.
