New to Collection! Johns Hopkins Nursing Evidence-Based Practice: Models and Guidelines

The MSK Library has recently added Johns Hopkins Nursing Evidence-Based Practice: Models and Guidelines to the eBook collection through the Metropolitan New York Library Council.  Johns Hopkins Nursing Evidence-Based Practice: Models and Guidelines provides practical guidelines on the model with exemplars, a question development tool, evidence rating scale, project management, appraisal forms, and evidence summary documents.  The new edition includes expanded and improved tools and forms including additional guidelines for individual appraisals, and both research and non-research-based evidence.

Faculty members and staff development instructors can download a PDF of a free, 26-page instructor’s guide to use as a resource in teaching the JHNEBP Model. The instructor’s guide includes examples of course objectives, how to set up an EBP project for students, and educational strategies for health care organizations.

Journal of Critical Care Added to Library Collection

The MSK Library has recently added the Journal of Critical Care to our library’s collection.  As the official publication of the World Federation of Societies of Intensive and Critical Care Medicine (WFSICCM), the Journal of Critical Care is a leading international, peer-reviewed journal providing original research, review articles, and tutorials for physicians and allied health professionals involved in treating the critically ill. The Journal aims to improve patient care by furthering understanding of health systems research and its integration into clinical practice.

Those interested in submitting a paper for publication must first register on the Journal’s site.  The Journal of Critical Care can be accessed in our Journal A-Z listing or in TriCat, the library catalog.

Title Change and New Edition in STAT!Ref

If you’ve been using Delmar’s Guide to Laboratory and Diagnostic Tests as your go-to guide, you’ll find the 3rd edition, which has recently been added to our Library’s collection, under a simpler title: the Guide to Laboratory and Diagnostic Tests. The new 2014 edition, which is updated to reflect the latest research, trends, and best practices, provides essential information on more than 600 lab and diagnostic tests. The Guide to Laboratory and Diagnostic Tests presents detailed, accurate information in an easy-to-use format and enables users to quickly access critical information on tests and procedures while maintaining a strong focus on patient care.
