Check Out the New F1000Research!

F1000Research, an Open Science publishing platform for life scientists, has recently been added to the MSK Library e-Journal collection.  Its hallmarks are:

  • immediate publication
  • transparent refereeing, with open peer-review and user commenting
  • avoiding editorial bias
  • ensuring the inclusion of all source data

The platform features a single-page submission system with an average time to publication of seven days.  F1000 Research publishes a wide variety of articles including, but not limited to, research articles, method articles, study protocols, reviews, systematic reviews, clinical practice articles, research notes and case reports.  Those interested in publication should consult the author guidelines page.

Journal of Medical Insights Added to the Collection

The Journal of Medical Insight (JoMI), a medical video journal publishing cutting-edge and standard of care surgical procedures, is new to the MSK Library Collection. JoMI is a valuable resource for a wide variety of users:

  • Attending surgeons: see the most current techniques and keep up with developments in other fields.
  • Residents and Fellows: gain “at the operating room table” access to surgeries with narration by top teaching surgeons.
  • Medical Students: see how medicine is actually practiced at the top institutions and prepare for surgical clerkships.

Check Out the New Essential Science Indicators and JCR Interface!

The new Essential Science Indicators™ and Journal Citation Reports® have been added to the MSK Library collection. Essential Science Indicators™ and Journal Citation Reports® are now supported on the InCites platform, which is part of a larger initiative to provide a single environment for research and bibliometric assessment and evaluation.

New features and capabilities of the platform include:

  • Improved data clarity with indicators based on publication year
  • New trend data views and visualizations
  • Easily save and export reports
  • Drill down to access and explore the underlying data that informs Journal Citation Reports metrics
