New eBook : Epidemiology for Advanced Nursing Practice

The Library recently added a new nursing eBook, entitled Epidemiology for Advanced Nursing Practice. This text is meant to guide nursing students to the understanding of “basic concepts of epidemiology while gaining and applying statistical conceptual skills” with a focus on disease prevention and community-centered migration.

This eBook is designed to prepare advanced practice nursing students to meet the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN) for Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) standards. Major topics include “expert insights, the role of epidemiology and statistics in advanced nursing practice, study designs and outcomes, emerging infectious diseases, genetic and environmental epidemiology, the role of culture, nursing in pandemics and emergency preparedness, and legal and ethical issues.”

New eBook : Perinatal Nursing

The Library has added a new eBook to the collection, called Perinatal Nursing. The fifth edition of this book is a comprehensive resource that offers “expert guidelines and best practices for the full range of patient care issues, from cultural practices and pregnancy complications to newborn assessments and nutrition.” This is an evidence-based text for perinatal and labor and delivery nursing.

New Open Access Journal: Intelligence-Based Medicine

MSK Library has added a new open access journal, entitled Intelligence-Based MedicineThe aim of this journal is to “create meaningful synergy between practicing clinicians and others (computer scientists, data scientists, engineers, cognitive scientists, entrepreneurs, etc) in deploying methods of artificial intelligence and human cognition in the practice of medicine and the delivery of healthcare.”

Various topics include the translation of emerging technologies into patient benefit, 3D printing, intelligence in healthcare, medical imaging, blockchain, embedded AI, decision support, precision medicine, robotic process automation, virtual and augmented reality, and ethics.
