Resource Highlights: Data Sharing for Demographic Research

Working on a research project on a specific population, demographic group, or region? Check out the Data Sharing for Demographic Research (DSDR)  repository online for data related to or focused on your target population. You can also use DSDR to deposit your own research data to be shared with the demographic research community at large. Data can be uploaded and downloaded in common formats such as Stata, SPSS, and SAS. Some research projects found on the resource may also provide a downloadable PDF of the researcher’s codebook or coding sheets allowing for further transparency and replication of research.

Scholars that deposit their research data sets should be aware that they are sharing their information with the research community at large as well as the general public. The DSDR repository can be found using most popular search engines and online discovery tools. For more information on scholarly data sharing and the options in sharing your research/project files, visit our Scholarly Communication page. You will notice some open access programs nationwide as well as initiatives unique to the MSK Library.
