Clarivate Reveals World’s Influential Researchers: 2023 List is Available to View!

Clarivate released its 2023 list of Highly Cited Researchers™. Their evaluation and selection process identified 6,849 researchers from institutions in 67 countries/regions who demonstrate significant influence in their field(s) of interest through their highly cited papers. For the United States this represents 2,669 highly cited researchers with a world share of 37.5%.

Curious on who made this global list from Memorial Sloan Kettering (MSK)?  Read on to find out!

The Highly Cited Researchers’ names are drawn from the publications that rank in the top 1% by citations for field and publication year in the Web of Science™ citation index.

I am delighted to share that 41 researchers associated with MSK publications from this year made this prestigious list.  There were 8 researchers on the list that had previously work at the Center but had no MSK-affiliated papers for a few years.

International Open Access Week October 23 – 29 2023

Mark your calendars, International Open Access Week is just around the corner. This year’s theme is “Community over Commercialization,” providing an opportunity to emphasize and discuss approaches to open scholarship that best serve the interests of the public and the academic community.

The MSK Library promotes Open Access in several ways by:

  • adding relevant open access journals to our current list of eJournals;
  • managing the SKOAP fund which financially supports MSK authors for article processing charges;
  • providing a curated listed of open access initiatives, resources, tools, directories, and repositories;
  • and sharing information about open access specific to the needs of the Memorial Sloan Kettering (MSK) community.

Did You Know? October is National Medical Librarians Month!

Join us in celebration and raising awareness of the significant role our health information professionals (AKA) librarians contribute to research and medical activities. Check out the Memorial Sloan Kettering Library team who provide evidence-based information to our physicians, nurses, pharmacists, students, and other healthcare professionals across the Center and all our MSK locations. They also support patients and their caregivers when they need reliable cancer information.

This year’s theme, “Yes, we do that!” opens the door and invites our user community to reach out and discover what we do and how we can support their daily work.

If you are curious about how the MSK library staff can support you, feel free to contact me. You can also visit the MSK Library website and start exploring our digital collections, resources, and the services available to you.
