Tech Zone: Microsoft Launches New “Surface” Tablet

On June 18th, CEO Steve Ballmer announced Microsoft’s newest creation: Surface.  The tablet will be released sometime in the fall.

Notable features include:

  • 10.6″, 16:9 widescreen HD display
  • Pressure-sensitive cover that doubles as a fully functioning keyboard and trackpad
  • Front and rear-facing camera with flip-out kickstand
  • MicroSD slot and full-sized USB port

While Surface aims to provide better productivity, tech experts, fans and critics will need to wait a bit longer before knowing if the iPad has met its competitor.  For more reviews on Surface, read:
