The Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) is a global organization working to eliminate cancer for future generations. Their website contains resources on their specific cancer initiatives (such as cervical and childhood cancers), as well as cancer news from top government organizations worldwide. The site also offers resources including papers, reports, and documents published by the UICC.

Goldminer is a Good Source for Radiology and Biomedical Images

A quick way to search for radiology images is through ARRS GoldMiner®. GoldMiner is a search engine produced by the American Roentgen Ray Society. It provides access to radiology and biomedical images published in 742+ peer-reviewed journals. Images can be searched by findings, anatomy, imaging technique, and patient age and sex. Nearly 477,000+ images are available in the database.

Clean Out Your Bookshelf and Donate to a Good Cause!

Clean out your bookcase and do a good deed. I suspect there are many health care providers who no longer need their medical books and would like to donate them to students and practitioners in developing countries but don’t know how. The following are four organizations that can distribute your books within the United States and around the world. Some donations are tax deductible; check each site for details. Also, please keep in mind that recent materials with current information will have the greatest impact, and some materials may be too outdated to responsibly donate to fellow practitioners or students.
