Usability Testing of ONESEARCH Our New Search and Discovery Tool

The Library recently conducted usability research of our new search discovery tool ONESEARCH to evaluate the interface, determine whether the tool served MSK users in an intuitive way, identify problem areas, and share possible improvements. The resulting feedback will be relevant in guiding future enhancements to ONESEARCH. We want to thank all the participants that contributed their time and insight to this study.

What Do You Think of the MSK Library Website’s ONESEARCH?

In January of this year, the Library announced a new search discovery tool called ONESEARCH. We now need your help in determining how well this new feature supports you in finding what you need.

Please take a moment to share your feedback regarding ONESEARCH by completing this brief 10-question survey. The survey was designed to take no more than 10 minutes and will end on Friday, November 30, 2018.

ONESEARCH USER FEEDBACK SURVEY

We want to make it easier for you to find the resources (books, eJournals, databases, etc.) you need. Your feedback will support how we move forward to ensure this happens.

As a thank you, you’ll have an opportunity to enter our raffle and be one of three individuals selected to win an AMAZON.com gift card!

Understanding OneSearch – Rockefeller and Weill Cornell eBooks and eJournals Search Option

The new OneSearch launching at the end of January (or sooner) will feature five search options (also called scopes).

The fifth option in the menu below called “Rockefeller and Weill Cornell eBooks and eJournals” will search the eBook and eJournal collections at Rockefeller and Weill Cornell. This search excludes all Library collections at MSK.

Why would you use this option?

If MSK Library does not own/license a particular eBook or eJournal, this search allows you to quickly find out if the specific ebook or ejournal you need can be accessed at Rockefeller or Weill Cornell. To use an e-resource from either of these libraries, you must do so from one of their public workstation.
