Rockefeller University Library Holiday Schedule: Closed Starting 12/22, 5:00 pm

Due to ongoing construction of the new River Campus at Rockefeller it will be necessary to close Welch Hall (Library) to all users and visitors over the holiday break. Emergency exits will be blocked, making it unsafe and illegal for anyone to be in the building.

The building will officially close as of 5:00 pm Friday, December 22, and not re-open until 9:00 am Tuesday morning, January 2, 2018.

Clarivate Analytics 2017 Highly Cited MSK Researchers

The 2017 Highly Cited Researchers Report from Clarivate Analytics (the company behind Web of Science) is an annual list recognizing leading researchers in the sciences and social sciences from all over the world. This year the report includes approximately 3,400 highly cited researchers.  To learn how a researcher makes this list, take a moment to review the methodology.  If you prefer, you can also view a short video (8.51 min) on their methodology webpage which provides a brief overview, how the report is compiled, and showcases two researchers and their thoughts of what it means to be included in this year’s report.

International Open Access Week Has Arrived!

October is not just the month when we see ghosts, goblins, and witches. “Open in order to…” is the theme for the 2017 International Open Access Week taking place from October 24 to October 29. This week-long event is a global, community-driven time for all interested individuals to support and recognize the benefits of making scholarly research openly available. The organizers wanted this year’s theme to prompt us to move beyond talking about openness in itself and focus instead on what openness enables. Continue reading
