Ever wish you had a personalized table of contents from your top journals in one place? Or if you’re a big dreamer, maybe you’ve wished you had this customized literature list at your fingertips on-the-go? Introducing Docphin, your portal to personalized research that organizes literature and news media and can help these dreams come true!
The beauty of Docphin is its integration with the MSK Library electronic collection. When registering with Docphin, you will be prompted to choose an institution from a designated list (Memorial Sloan Kettering is one of them). After choosing MSK and creating a free registration, you are now able to customize your Docphin interface. Choose the journals and news sources that interest you. You can view all of them with the My Page tab, or you can compartmentalize your journal table of contents into different categories. These include: General Medicine, Hospital Medicine, Cardiology, Endocrinology, GI, Hem/Onc, Infectious Diseases, Pulmonary, Renal, and Rheumatology. The News tab is meant for creating a personalized list of headlines from your favorite newspapers and other media sources. All of the above is found within the overarching BROWSE tab. The SEARCH tab allows you to search for sources by name instead of perusing a list of the most popular journals, newspapers, etc. There are also built-in modules for searching Clinical Guidelines (from the National Guidelines Clearinghouse), UpToDate (on-campus only), and image and video resources. Remember, Docphin searches the MSK Library collection as well as outside sources, so you may have access to some subscription-only content by using Docphin. Alternatively, you may be directed to other, non-reputable content on the web. This should be taken into consideration when searching for articles or news media in Docphin.

We are proud that MSK’s tech savvy community is among the first institutions to participate in Docphin, so please let us know what you think!
