TEDMED 2012 Conference: Invitation to MSK Staff to Hear an Inspiring Talk!

When is TEDMED happening?  This conference is taking place April 11 to April 13, 2012!

What is TEDMED? TEDMED is an annual conference focusing on health and medicine and is unlike any other medical meeting. Attending just one session can change your perspective on what the future might bring!  Speakers and attendees come from all sectors of society to explore possibilities, share ideas, and ponder fresh insights.  Who are the Speakers? What Topics will be presented? Past Ted talks have been downloaded more that 500 million times because they feature world-class speakers who talk about “Ideas worth spreading” in powerful, but brief presentations (3 to 18 minutes). TEDMED is an opportunity to inspire participants about the possibilities in health and medicine and less about a structured format where you know in advance who will be speaking. How can I participate? MSK staff will be able to join TEDMEDLive@MSKCC at the following locations for three of the eleven scheduled sessions:

  • Wednesday, April 11, 2012 – from 2:00 to 4:00 PM, RRL-118
  • Thursday, April 12, 2012 – from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, M-107
  • Friday, April 13, 2012 – from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, RRL-103

Please note that seating is limited and is on a first come basis. Light refreshments will be served so feel free to bring your lunch!

TEDMED is providing a live simulcast of its speakers to MSKCC along with other selected hospitals and universities across the country. This means participants can not only listen to pioneers and thought leaders in health and medicine but can actively engage with the sessions above by sending questions to speakers and taking advantage of other interactive elements through the TEDMED Connect App. This App is available for download from the Apple Store and Android Market beginning April 3, 2012 (Search for App: TEDMEDConnect). To effectively use this App you’ll need to use your MSKCC email address as well as the MSKCC Location ID: 521317.
