Here are just a few of the items that caught my eye these past few weeks;
- Nature News reports that three experimental treatments for Ebola will be tested in Guinea beginning next month. The item links to an earlier Nature News piece about the ethical debate surrounding running trials during epidemics.
- Following President Obama’s statement in support of reclassifying the internet as a utility in the interest of Net Neutrality earlier this week (the White House page on the issue is here) there are posts aplenty on the issue online. Here are just some of those items from NY Times, US News, The Oatmeal (Warning: contains strong language), and an older post from Wired series back in June called What Everyone Gets Wrong in the Debate Over Net Neutrality.
- Amazon and Hachette have finally reached a deal (NPR), though neither party are discussing the terms according to the NY Times.
- In a brief policy note on Tumblr the ARL shared that Senator Harry Reid filed a motion on the 12th for closure of the USA Freedom Act which is intended to limit the mass collection of data on Americans and protect civil liberties.
- Steven Brill weighs in with this opinion piece about how King v Burwell hinges on one sentence (via @HuskerDana).
