Confused about the difference between a PMCID and PMID? Need to find out when the deadline is to submit your publication to be in compliance with the NIH mandate? Look no further than the NIH Public Access Policy LibGuide.

Our LibGuide walks you through the process of complying with the NIH’s policy on public access to federally funded research including the important dates you need to know in order to submit your manuscript and other materials on time. The Compliance tab explains the difference between a PMID, PMCID, and NIHMS ID as well as how to go about obtaining these identifiers for your publication–or when these identifiers will be assigned to your submission. In addition, you can find information about the different methods for submission and which route you should be taking for your paper.

You will also notice some tutorials and other helpful links that give step-by-step instructions on complying with the NIH Public Access Policy to include an MSK Docs tab where you’ll find an overview of the policy and what MSK researchers need to know in order to be in compliance.
