Watch a brief video on how to use the Advanced Search option when searching the PsycINFO database via the Ovid platform.  This database contains the records from Psychological Abstracts.

Included is a description of the use  and value of subject headings to build a precise search.  Term hierarchy is demonstrated showing Broader Terms, Narrower Terms and Related Terms.  There also is an explanation of the “Focus” option to retrieve articles where the term is a major concept.  The video is under four minutes long.
