Fast and Transparent Publishing with F1000Research

F1000Research is an open science publishing platform for life scientists. It is not only a good source for finding reliable information on a topic, it also allows you to locate the primary data underlying its’ publications results. The data policies and data preparation pages detail the requirements that data needs to meet in order for an investigator’s research to be accepted for publication.

Here is an informative video on the benefits of F1000Research requiring source data for publication:

F1000Research‘s post-publication peer review process is a unique publishing model. Articles are submitted online and published within 7 days (as long as all author guidelines have been met). Authors are to then choose 5 referees to provide unbiased peer review of their publication (a list of pre-approved experts is provided by F1000Research to aid in this selection process). Until an article has been peer reviewed, and given a status by the referee(s), it will be labeled as AWAITING PEER REVIEW. Once an article is past this status, it will then be indexed in several bibliographic databases (i.e. PubMed, PMC, Embase, Scopus, etc.). Here is a full list of indexed sources.
