A leading source of drug and household product label information from the National Institutes of Health, TOXNET has received accolades for its usability and high quality information geared toward various types of user (professional, consumer, lay). The resource has recently undergone a transformation with an entirely new look and feel.
Users now have three ways of searching the TOXNET content: Basic Search, Browse (by keywords or CAS Registry terms), and Advanced Search.
Each of the three search options can be limited to a specific database in the TOXNET family or users can choose to search across all databases in the resource. Also, a useful feature of the new design includes a list of the databases available on the homepage along with quick descriptions of each for users to reference.
TOXNET has also added a nice FAQ portion to their site with helpful information such as coverage dates of the database and sorting a list of results.
