The Trip Database for searching clinical evidence based resources has received a rather nice makeover! The homepage makes it easier to navigate allowing for a user friendly experience.
Deciphering the results of a search is much easier with the new design. The navigation pane on the left of the screen displays a color-coded hierarchy of evidence types and each reference on your list of results is assigned a color. This simple scheme makes it easy to find high evidence references quickly and efficiently.
Aside from searching by keywords, Trip has a function for searching using the PICO (Population, Intervention, Comparison, Outcomes) rubric. This design helps you formulate your search and retrieves results that are more specific to your clinical query. You can read more about how the PICO search function works and perform your own Advanced Search right from the database homepage.
Trip also makes it easy to toggle between images, videos, patient information, and news/RSS feeds at the top of the list of results after running a search. This added feature of compartmentalizing search results makes it easy for different users to filter the results to their specific needs. For instance, patients and families can solely work within the Patient Information tab at the top of the page to find information from organizations pertaining to their disease/condition, web resources on their topic, and patient information leaflets for further reading.
