Resource Highlights: HINTS

Health Information National Trends Survey
HINTS is a brainchild of the National Cancer Institute offering nationally gathered data on how the public uses cancer-related information. This data is used to visualize and record trends in how people find, interpret, and disseminate cancer information. As a result, the channels of communication between professionals and consumers contain minimal barriers. Reputable information can be shared more openly and in a manner that the public can better understand.

HINTS is a helpful resource for cancer-program planners as well as it shows health communication disparities in various regions and demographics in the U.S. With this information, planners can design cancer-related information programs and outreach efforts to more effectively reach  specific populations. All data gathered and provided by HINTS is freely accessible and open for any type of use by the public.
