October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month! The official source for breast cancer awareness information is NBCAM.org. This year, NBCAM.org is celebrating their 25th anniversary of spreading awareness, education and empowerment. Read on for more information on NBCAM.org and current strides in breast cancer here at MSK.
The National Breast Cancer Awareness Month web site serves as a tool for patients dealing with or in remission from breast cancer as well as general information on the disease for the consumer as well as the professional. It can also be used as a current events tool and resource for getting involved in the breast cancer awareness movement. Although breast cancer awareness month occurs once a year, the NCBAM.org resource is a year round endeavour providing the same services to their users.
Here at MSK, the Evelyn H. Lauder Breast Center and Memorial Sloan Kettering Imaging Center is holding a Breast Cancer Awareness Fair entitled Knowledge is Power: Breast Cancer Awareness Fair. This is a two-day fair on October 20-21. The Center also offers regular breast cancer survivorship meetings for patients and professional videos on breast cancer from past CME and CNE courses. For more information on breast cancer treatment, appointments, and resources visit the Breast Cancer Information page at MSKCC.org.
