MSK SciFinder users can now access this resource from the Library Website . As of Tuesday, May 3, 2011 all five seats will be dedicated to the web version as the client (desktop) platform will be discontinued on June 30, 2011.
Users must continue to logon to SciFinder each time they need to use the resource. By going through the Library Web site users will be able to access this product off campus. The Library authenicates users with EZProxy making 24 x 7 access possible.
New MSK users will need to request an ID and Password. For help or support, please contact Donna Gibson (gibsond@mskcc.org).
Please note the following additional information that both current and new users might find interesting about the new version/product enhancements:
- SciPlanner is a new way to more quickly identify synthesis options to design the best pathways and approaches to optimize your results leveraging the world’s authority chemistry databases
- answer set sorting by number of citing references
- copy/pasting of ISIS/Draw structures into the SciFinder structure drawing editor
- the addition of citations to MEDLINE® records
While most web browsers are supported, please keep in mind:
- FireFox 4 is not currently compatible with this version of SciFinder
- IE9 users should use the “compatibility mode” when using the preview
- Users with Internet Explorer 6 will not have access to these new enhancements
