Reference & Consultation

The Research Informationist team at the MSK Library offer a variety of research services.

Literature Search
Need assistance with a complex search? Contact a Research Informationist to perform a comprehensive investigation of the literature.

ORCID@MSK
MSK researchers and scientists can register for their iD using the ORCID@MSK application - this portal also allows individuals to add the MSK affiliation to their ORCID record, share their iD with us, push their works from Synapse to ORCID, and make MSK a trusted organization. Have questions about ORCID? Ask Us for more information.

BrowZine
A mobile application that allows you to browse, read and monitor many of the MSK Library’s scholarly journals, all in a format optimized for your iPad, Android, or Kindle. Download the iOS, Android, or Kindle app to get started, or Ask Us for more information.

Current Awareness Service
In light of today's overwhelming volume of information, the Research Informationist team can demonstrate how to manage your news, alerts, and RSS feeds. We will introduce you to helpful tools for keeping abreast of new developments in your area of interest or set up alerts on your behalf.

Systematic Reviews
This type of review is one of the highest forms of Evidence-Based Practice that follows a rigorous scientific research process on a given topic. The Institute of Medicine recommends that an information professional collaborate with investigators on the literature search strategy, which should be comprehensive and reproducible. To learn more visit our Systematic Review guide.

MSK Library Guides
MSK Library Guides are knowledge sharing websites developed by MSK Library staff that can be leveraged for current awareness, displaying MSK author publications, subject-specific information, or educational and training resources. To request a customized guide for your department or group, or to learn more about how an MSK Library Guide can enhance your productivity, contact Reference Services

The MSK Library provides a service which embeds a Research Informationist in selected clinical environments. Some services include attendance at morning report, live reference during rounds, customized training, literature searches for patient care, and assessing other information needs of the department. If you are interested in initiating this program in your department, contact Robin O'Hanlon.
