MSKCC Document Delivery – Easy Service with Great Returns!

As a Research Fellow from Rome, Dr. Andrea Saggini has only positive comments to share regarding the MSKCC Document Delivery Service (DDS) where article turnaround time from request to delivery has “been more than satisfactory.”

Once you have registered (you must have a valid MSKCC email address) and set up your account, you may immediately begin submitting your requests.

This service provides not only journal articles not available from the Library’s collection, but, partnering with the DDS team, you can also request a book chapter, have a book borrowed on your behalf, or even request a patent or a standard.  You can also assign a priority level for when you need the requested item.

Dr. Saggini tends to request articles in his area of focus — Melanocytes and Melanoma — and finds this service helpful in keeping him in touch with recent publications.  This service is not available to him at his University in Rome and so it has changed the way he looks for published literature.  He feels that Document Delivery has “turned out to be a real game changer” because it allows him to easily get papers which otherwise would be very difficult to obtain on his own, especially those from Pigment Cell & Melanoma Research.  He can focus on the content of the article and not worry whether he will have problems finding a supplier for the journal.

DDS is definitely a win-win partnership and, as Dr. Saggini has found, this service can be accessed from home where he does most of his professional reading.

The next time you need an article outside the MSKCC Library’s collection, don’t hesitate to do what Dr. Saggini does and order via the Document Delivery Service – it’s easy to use and the requested article arrives in your account – within the time frame you have stipulated!
