A New Year With New Goals!

Happy New Year to our User Community, and our Library Blog readers! The start of a new year is often a time to reflect on past achievements, make resolutions, and definitely establish new goals. Last year was extremely productive for the library staff. We accomplished our objectives while still delivering on research and information requests in a timely manner, ensuring our clients had a positive experience – one that they wanted to repeat (and did).

As always, our 2016 goals focus on our user community, support the mission of our institution, and ensure that the resources and services we offer enhance and contribute to work productivity. Among them, I would like to highlight the following three:

  • Synapse – We will be reaching out to our users and connecting with our authors to better understand how this resource is used and how we can continue to add features that matter.
  • Library Website – We recently launched “Summon”, a new search and discovery interface, and will keep on exploring ways to improve and enrich the user’s research experience in locating the “right” information.
  • Library Training Program – We plan on revamping our training and orientation sessions by experimenting with different approaches for sharing information about our resources and services.  We want all of our library users (even those not yet registered with us) to benefit from our training program regardless of their work location.

We are certainly excited regarding our upcoming goals, activities, and personal assignments and are delighted that you continue to make us a part of your research process, work activities, and decision-making.
