New Biosketch Format Required: Use SciENcv to Make it Happen!

As of May 25, 2015, a new biosketch format will be required so why not get started sooner rather than later to address this change!  Science Experts Network Curriculum Vitae (SciENcv) has been developed as an option to save you time, now, and in the future, with the following automated features:

  • Pulls in your profile information from your eRA Commons account
  • Uploads your publications from My NCBI’s My Bibliography or your ORCID account (if you have one)
  • Allows you to create multiple versions of your profile by using information previously entered (reduces typing time!)

SciENcv is part of My NCBI and supports the creation of online professional profiles that can be made private (default setting) or shared with others (public). Researchers can control the content of their profile and edit it as required, include or hide selected citations, add non-NIH research awards, or create multiple profiles customized for each new grant application. This tool links My Bibliography with the individual’s eRA Commons account so that the right information is accessible. It allows researchers to pull together in one place their education and employment information, research activities, publications, honors, research grants, and other professional contributions.

The Library has developed step-by-step instructions with links to available training documentation and support to help make your transition to the new biosketch easier to accomplish. This information is located on the MSK NIH Public Access LibGuide. Just click on the “My NCBI: SciENcv” tab to access.  You’ll be able to view the instructions as a web page or print out a .pdf version.
