- Cornell University in partnership with Memorial Sloan Kettering is opening a new $10 million Center of Cancer Nanotechnology Excellence, bringing together scientists, engineers, biologists, and physicians to develop and translate new cancer care applications based on nanotechnology.
- Collaborative enterprise announced between Memorial Sloan Kettering and Illumina, Inc. to conduct research studies critical to understanding the biology of circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA). The studies aim to inform the development of new strategies to diagnose and monitor cancer and to help establish ctDNA as an important marker in the study and eventual treatment of cancer. Dr. Jose Baselga, Physician-in-Chief and Chief Medical Officer, Memorial Hospital is quoted.

- New Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center Clinic helps lymphoma survivors stay healthy and focuses on caring for the long-term effects of lymphoma treatments and studying new ways to improve the quality of life for this cancer survivor population. Dr. Mathew Matasar is quoted.
- Thomson Reuters announced in late September its 2015 Citation Laureates which is mined from their scientific content within Web of Science identifying the most influential researchers in chemistry, physics, physiology or medicine, and economics. Among the list are scientists, Alexander Y. Rudensky (from MSK), Shimon Sakaguchi and Ethan M. Shevach for Medicine. Congratulations to these individuals who have demonstrated an “Impact of Scientific Innovations.”
- Congratulations go out to Lorenz Studer, a stem cell biologist and the founding head of the MSK’s Center for Stem Cell Biology. Dr. Studer has been selected as a member of the MacArthur Fellows Class of 2015. He joins several others. View the full list available from the MacArthur’s website.
