Laptops & Smart Phones

 

Laptops for Loan

For employees on-the-go, we offer PC and Macintosh laptops for loan for use in the Library. Borrowing is limited to MSK, Hospital for Special Surgery, The Rockefeller University, and Weill Cornell Medical College Library users with valid identification. Laptop use is limited to two hours and laptops are not to be removed from the Library premises. Laptops must be returned within 30 minutes of closing time or after two hours of use.

 

Software available on the laptops include: Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Access, EndNote, and ChemDraw (select laptops only). Installation of additional software is not permitted. Files saved to the laptops are deleted regularly, so users with MSK domain access should save their files to the network.  We recommend for other users to bring their own USB drives for storage. Printing can be done, but only from PC laptops connected with an Ethernet cable to the MSK domain.

Internet access is available via mskguest or mskwifi with appropriate login information.

 

Smart Phone Charging Station

At the main location in the Rockefeller Research Labs building, we also have a charging station, where MSK staff and affiliates can charge smart phones. We provide power cords for most Blackberries, Androids, and iPhones.
