Document Delivery Services - Frequently Asked Questions
The most frequently asked questions concerning Document Delivery Services are listed below. For additional information about these services or to submit a question, please contact us at ill@mskcc.org. For information about other library services, please contact Ask-A-Librarian.
Once your document has been obtained, you will receive an email message notifying you that your document is available. You must then log in to your account to download your document. Please save the files to your workspace as they will only be available in your account for a limited time. If you requested a book, you will receive an email when it is ready for pick-up at the Library.

The Library's policy is to respect the proprietary rights of the copyright owners. Library staff adhere to US copyright law when borrowing or copying material on behalf of our users. The following copyright notice appears on the Library's User Registration form:
COPYRIGHT NOTICEThe copy law of the U.S. (Title 17 U.S. Code) governs the making of photocopies or other reproductions of copyrighted material. Under certain conditions specified in the law, libraries and archives are authorized to furnish a photocopy or other reproduction. One of these specified conditions is that the photocopy or reproduction is not to be "used for any purpose other than private study, scholarship or research". If a user makes a request for, or later uses a photocopy or reproduction for purposes in excess of "fair use", that user may be liable for copyright infringement. This institution reserves the right to refuse to accept a copying order if, in its judgement, fulfillment of the order would involve violation of copyright law. By using Electronic Document Delivery service you expressly agree to comply with Copyright Law.
Copyright also impacts the use of electronic resources. Databases, eJournals, and eBooks are subject to all terms and conditions of their license agreements and copyright provisions.

Your document is available from your ILLiad account for 30 days before being deleted automatically. Please save files to your workspace.
 
Frequently Asked Questions - ILLiad
We strive to fill all requests as quickly as possible and so your requested article may come from a number of possible sources.  It may be a scan from a print journal, a PubMed Central Author's Manuscript, a print-to-PDF from a website, or a publisher's PDF.  There are several factors that come into play including copyright restrictions and the time frame within which you need the article.  If you have a buisness reason requiring the publisher's PDF of your article, please add it to the "Notes" field of your request or contact the Document Delivery Team at 212.639.7441 or ill[at]mskcc.org.
