The new OneSearch launching at the end of January (or sooner) will feature five search options (also called scopes).

The third option in the menu below called “Articles” will search selected databases (including PubMed) for articles from MSK Library’s collections.

Why would you use this option?

This search allows you to quickly limit your results to articles owned/licensed by the MSK Library.

Understanding OneSearch – Books and More Search Option

The new OneSearch launching at the end of January (or sooner) will feature five search options (also called scopes).

The second option in the menu below called “Books and more” will search the MSK Library’s print and electronic collections for book and journal titles. This search excludes article or database results.

Why would you use this option?

This search allows you to quickly limit your results to print and electronic book and journal holdings owned/licensed by the MSK Library. For example, this search option would be a good place to start if you were interested in finding books in our collection on the topic ‘cancer pain management’ or if you want to confirm we have a specific journal title you need.

Understanding OneSearch – What Are the Different Search Options Available for Our Users?

The new OneSearch launching at the end of January (or sooner) will feature five search options (also called scopes).

The first option in the menu below is the default search option which will search all resources owned or subscribed to by the MSK Library including articles, books, databases (PubMed, CINAHL, Scopus, Web of Science etc.) and vetted free open access resources.

Why would you use this option?

  • This single search option allows you to search across all of MSK Library’s resources, including journal articles, books, databases, newspaper articles, conference proceedings, dissertations, multimedia and more.
  • You can quickly narrow down search results by content type, discipline, publication date, language, author, or title.
  • You can also expand the results to include resources that are not immediately available from the Library but may be obtained through our Document Delivery services.
