Evidence Matters: An EBM Resource
Evidence Matters recently released a new version which now covers 1,500 disease topics. Using a simple ask-a-question interface, MSKCC medical staff can retrieve the latest peer-reviewed research results to help determine the best therapy options for a specific patient with a confirmed diagnosis. Results are organized using an evidence-base approach and users have the ability to view summary graphs or tables based on therapy effectiveness, safety, and cost.
Published literature for Evidence Matters is extracted from research appearing in peer-reviewed scientific journals and selected using databases such as MEDLINE, CINAHL, and The Cochrane Library. Selecting articles is conducted daily to several times a week for each disease area. Articles selected deal with therapeutic effectiveness, safety, and cost. References can go as far back as 1970.
To access this resource, click on the links above or from the Library Web site, enter Evidence Matters in the Library eResources Title Search box. This search box can be found on every interior page on the right-hand side of your screen or as one of the tabs on the main page.
