Information Seminars - 2008 Revised NIH Public Access Policy
Revised NIH Public Access Policy, January 2008, implementation date April 7, 2008.
The U.S. Congress passed the Consolidated Appropriations Act 2008, PL-110-161. In Division G, Title II Section 218 of the law it states:
SEC. 218. The Director of the National Institutes of Health shall require that all investigators funded by the NIH submit or have submitted for them to the National Library of Medicine’s PubMed Central an electronic version of their final, peer-reviewed manuscripts upon acceptance for publication, to be made publicly available no later than 12 months after the official date of publication: Provided, That the NIH shall implement the public access policy in a manner consistent with copyright law.
The Library in collaboration with Research Resources Management will host information seminars about the new requirements for NIH-funded investigators.
If you are an MSK Investigator, please make every effort to attend one of the following sessions:
- Friday, April 25, 2008, 10:00 am - 11:00 am, Hoffman Auditorium
- Monday, May 19, 2008, 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm, RRL Auditorium
In addition to these seminars, the Library's Publication Support page provides detailed information and useful links for MSK authors.
