Upcoming Cell Biology Conference in NYC
Cell Biology of Disease: Chromosomes, Cancer and Stem Cells
September 23 to 25, 2009
REGISTRATION and LOCATION at: http://www.nyas.org/cancerstem
Presented by the New York Academy of Sciences and the Journal of Cell Biology, this 2.5 day conference will deal with disease pathology at the cellular and molecular level, with a focus on cancer.
Two of the keynote speakers include Alan Hall, PhD and Joan Massagué, PhD from Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center.
Presenters will discuss disease caused by chromosomal abnormalities, DNA repairs defects, and other nuclear irregularities. The meeting will highlight progress in stem cell research with a focus on its application to cancer and diseases.
The symposium will also focus on basic science, but will provide some integration with subsequent clinical applications so that bench researchers and clinicians can develop a mutual understanding of the potential for translation of basic research into effective therapeutics.
